Three American service members have been killed in action and five others have been seriously wounded, according to U.S. Central Command.
The deaths occurred during the U.S. military operation against Iran – Operation Epic Fury – and the identifies of the "fallen warriors" have not yet been made public, a statement said.
Military analyst Sean Bell gives his analysis of the situation, saying the fatalities "will not play well" for Donald Trump – a president "who is defining himself by his ability to bring peace, not start wars".
