On the fifth day of the war, an American submarine has sunk an Iranian warship. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the warship "thought it was safe in international waters".
NATO has also shot down a ballistic missile approaching Turkey – with Israel striking Tehran and Beirut.
