The home secretary is to announce a further shake-up of the asylum system.
Asylum seekers who break the law or work illegally, or those who can support themselves financially, will have their government support withdrawn, Shabana Mahmood will say.
At the moment, the government is legally required to support asylum seekers and provide them with accommodation.
In a speech in Westminster this morning, Mahmood will lay out her argument for tightening the system, saying public trust in the system relies on seeing controls.
