Türkiye steps up diplomacy to prevent wider regional war

Ankara is uniquely positioned amid the US and Israel’s assault on Iran, as Türkiye shares a long border with the country. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attacks on Iran but also criticised Tehran for striking Gulf states. As fears of a wider war grows, Ankara says it is co-ordinating with Nato while pushing for diplomacy to ease tensions. Kubra Akkoc explores Ankara’s role.
