European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned against returning to Russian oil and gas, despite soaring energy prices during the US-Israeli war with Iran. She was addressing the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. Von der Leyen called reviving Europe’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels a "strategic blunder" and urged investment in homegrown energy sources, including renewables and nuclear reactors.
