Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations on Wednesday criticised as politically motivated a resolution passed by the Security Council that demanded an immediate halt to Iranian attacks on Gulf states.
The UN Security Council on Wednesday adopted a resolution condemning Iran’s attacks on Gulf states, with 13 members voting in favor and Russia and China abstaining.
The resolution was co-sponsored by Bahrain with support from 135 countries.
After the vote, Bahrain’s UN ambassador, Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, said the resolution sent a clear signal that missile and drone strikes attributed to Iran against Bahrain, other Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan were unacceptable and violated the UN Charter, international law and principles of good neighborliness.
