Israel’s military said it struck Beirut’s southern suburbs in response to the group firing dozens of rockets simultaneously across northern Israel.
Blasts also hit the city late yesterday, producing fires and plumes of smoke.
It marked some of the heaviest fighting between the two since the war began.
