Defence and security analyst Michael Clarke spoke to Sky News about suggestions the UK government could send drones to the Middle East amid rising tensions in the region.
“We do have this new system, a robotics system,” Clarke said. “We’re working on a new generation counter-mine capability.”
However, he said Britain’s ability to deploy ships to the region is limited.
“One thing we can’t do is deploy ships in the area because we don’t have any,” he added, noting that HMS Dragon is currently the only Royal Navy ship available.
