As the war enters its third week, blocked supply chains have caused global prices for food, fuel and fertiliser to skyrocket. In Sierra Leone, fuel prices have jumped over 12%, forcing transport fares up and squeezing daily budgets for Freetown residents. It’s also worsening a humanitarian crisis in eastern DRC, where fighting between the army and M23 rebels over mineral-rich territory intensifies.
