A Kent MP says schools need more advice on spotting the symptoms of meningitis after two young people died in a deadly outbreak of the disease.
Conservative MP Helen Whately says health officials "acted quickly" at the University of Kent, where students have been queuing up to get antibiotics, but they need to "look at the situation for schools" as older pupils often mix with students at local venues.
The shadow work and pensions secretary was also asked about the UK’s response to the war in Iran and accused Sir Keir Starmer of "flip-flopping on the Middle East," claiming the PM was being "weak and indecisive at a time when we need strong and clear leadership," – although the MP would not be drawn on whether she would support the UK sending war ships to the Strait of Hormuz.
