The US president has reiterated his call for a global coalition to police the Strait of Hormuz. Donald Trump earlier warned it would be very bad for Nato allies if they don’t help provide security for tankers passing through the channel. The war has effectively brought shipping in the strait to a halt, sent oil prices soaring and piled pressure on Trump, both at home and abroad. Selina Downes reports from Washington.
