Soler i Lecha: Foreign policy of Pedro Sánchez ‘widely supported by the Spanish population’

As Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky meets with European leaders, including Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Eve Irvine is pleased to welcome Eduard Soler i Lecha, Associate Professor of International Relations at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Senior Research Associate at IBEI. Our guest illustrates that what we are witnessing under Pedro Sánchez is a deliberate articulation of international law as both principle and instrument. When Spain condemns violence in Ukraine, Gaza, or Iran, it is not choosing sides impulsively – it is reaffirming a worldview in which its own security and influence depend on the preservation of multilateral norms.
