Air defence systems were activated over Israel’s northern port city of Haifa after sirens sounded ahead of missiles launched by Iran in response to US and Israeli strikes.
Black smoke rose from an oil facility in the city after shrapnel from an intercepted missile fell nearby. Officials also reported a brief power outage in parts of Haifa.
