Trump says US and Tehran have held talks on day 24 of Iran war | BBC News

US President Donald Trump said the US and Iran have held talks on the "complete and total resolution of hostilities" in the Middle East.

However, Iran’s parliament speaker denies discussions have taken place, saying "fake news" is being used to "manipulate" the oil markets.

Newly released figures show the number of people killed in Lebanon since Israel began its operations in the country has risen to 1,039, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross has warned events in the Middle East are at risk of reaching a ‘point of no return’.
