Caster Semenya: Olympics transgender athlete ban is ‘nonsense’

Double Olympic champion Caster Semenya has hit out at the decision to ban transgender women athletes from competing in female events at the Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee said this week competing in the games will be limited to biological females, who have undergone a one-time test for the SRY gene, which "is fixed throughout life and represents highly accurate evidence that an athlete has experienced male sex development".

The organisation’s new policy aligns with US President Donald Trump’s executive order on women’s sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
