Türkiye enhances ability to store and manage energy supply

As debate continues over whether maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz will return to normal after a possible a 15-day ceasefire, global markets remain cautious about the security of energy supplies. Türkiye, which has pursued a policy of energy diversification, is among the few countries facing relatively fewer challenges in securing supply. In the Marmara Region – one of the country’s key industrial and manufacturing hubs – critical energy infrastructure plays a central role in maintaining stability. The Silivri Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility – the country’s first and the largest of its kind in Europe – is a cornerstone of Türkiye’s efforts to ensure energy security.
