On the day resident doctors are back in work after six days of consecutive strikes, Health Secretary Wes Streeting has released a statement to coincide with their return.
In it, he criticises the £300m cost of the strike and said "that money would have been better spent implementing this offer to improve resident doctors’ pay and career opportunities".
He’ll be giving a talk to a thinktank this morning, which is publishing a report on how the NHS could be funded better – to which he’ll be responding.
