Orphaned children in Gaza mark Palestinian Prisoners’ Day in solidarity gathering

Orphaned children from the “Ehil” Care Center in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza held a solidarity gathering on Thursday, April 16, outside Al-Awda Hospital to mark Palestinian Prisoners’ Day.

On March 30, the Israeli Knesset advanced a bill that would allow the death penalty for Palestinians accused of carrying out deadly attacks, in a session welcomed by right-wing parties.

According to Palestinian and Israeli rights groups, more than 9,500 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 400 children and 84 women, where they face abuse, starvation, and medical neglect.
