A new analysis by UN Women finds that more than 38,000 women and girls were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and December 2025 by Israeli attacks, an average of at least 47 per day. Despite the ceasefire announced in October 2025, killings have reportedly continued amidst Israeli violations in recent months, highlighting ongoing risks to their lives.
The report, The Cost of the War in Gaza on Women and Girls, also notes that nearly 11,000 women and girls were injured, many with lifelong disabilities. The true toll is likely higher, with bodies still under rubble and the collapse of health systems limiting documentation.
