The UK inflation rate has increased markedly due to the early effects of the US-Iran war.
The Office for National Statistics reported an annual rate for the pace of price growth of 3.3% in March, covering the first month of disruption to oil and gas supplies from the Gulf.
Rising fuel costs drove the Consumer Prices Index measure up. It had stood at 3% in February.
