Leading Economist: Germany cannot muddle through any longer | DW News

Economist Marcel Fratzscher says it is high time for the German government to be more honest about the necessary reforms and cuts. Projections for German growth are down to 0.5 % this year. The recent energy price crisis due to the war in the Middle East is hampering recovery. A measure such as a rebate on gas "is extremely poor policy", according to the president of the German Institute for Economic Research.
