Iran released video on May 6 showing what it says is the wreckage of a reconnaissance drone it shot down over the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts identified the debris as most consistent with parts of a US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone.
Since the April 8 ceasefire, Iran has accused the United States of multiple violations, including imposing a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, conducting military operations near Iranian waters, and carrying out strikes on Iranian targets. Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that these actions constitute clear breaches of the ceasefire agreement.
