EU ministers meet to discuss Israel sanctions

Several EU countries, including Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia, are pushing for sanctions and trade restrictions on Israel over alleged human rights violations against Palestinians, but Germany and Italy continue to oppose the move. More than one million people have signed a petition demanding the EU ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements, forcing the European Commission to reopen the debate.
