Donald Trump is on his way to China for talks with Xi Jinping, with deep uncertainty over what comes next with Iran, and a spiralling war bill at home. He says Iran will be high on the agenda, but insists the US does not need China’s help to end the conflict. The visit is also aimed at reshaping trade relations with Beijing, as the US economy feels the strain of the war. Andy Roesgen reports from Washington.
