Thousands of Argentinian health workers protest against budget cuts

Tens of thousands of health workers marched through Argentinian capital Buenos Aires on May 20, demanding increased public health funding after deep budget cuts under President Javier Milei. Protesters said public hospitals are overwhelmed as more people abandon private healthcare because they can no longer afford it. Doctors also warn that mass layoffs at major hospitals are worsening staff shortages and reducing patient care. The rally follows growing nationwide protests against Milei’s austerity measures.
