Pro-Palestine activists staged a protest on Thursday outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, which was hosting an “illegal Jerusalem real estate expo and settler fair” co-sponsored by Israeli organisation Nefesh B’Nefesh.
“Thursday’s exposition showcased illegal settler properties on occupied land, further violating international law. According to event organisers, the Zionist mayor of occupied (East) Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, attended as part of an initiative to strengthen the pipeline of Americans settling on stolen Palestinian land,” the Pal-Awda group said in a statement.
Activists said the NYPD erected barricades and kettled protesters.
“The heavy police presence only served to conceal and facilitate illegal Zionist land theft taking place in our neighborhoods,” Pal-Awda added.
