How the most polarizing politician in Australia is winning | DW News

Now Pauline Hanson and her anti-migrant, populist One Nation party are leading the polls in Australia – overtaking even the governing Labor party. So how did a woman long dismissed as a fringe joke become the most disruptive force in Australian politics? We spoke to populism expert Benjamin Moffitt from Monash University, who says what’s happening in Australia is part of a global pattern – but is moving faster than almost anywhere else.
