The United States has launched a second wave of airstrikes on targets across Iran after President Donald Trump warned Tehran it would "pay the price" for stalled negotiations. Iran responded with strikes on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. The latest escalation is putting a fragile two-month ceasefire under severe strain and appears to have pushed diplomatic efforts further off track. Anja Kueppers-McKinnon speaks to Fawaz Gerges, a Professor of Middle Eastern Politics and International Relations at the London School of Economics, and to Daniel Winter from DW Business, about whether negotiations can be revived, how ordinary people are being affected by the renewed violence, and whether the prospect of a US-Iran deal is slipping out of reach.
