As images of destruction in Gaza circulate worldwide, they also reshape how people understand Palestine’s past. For generations, Palestinians have faced attempts to erase not only their presence on the land, but also their history, culture and collective memory. Yet maps, photographs, letters and personal archives have helped preserve those stories. An exhibition in Ankara now explores how the present can cast new light on the past. Asli Atbas reports.
