Wisal Abu Hattab is a teacher in Palestine’s Gaza whose life — like all Palestinians living in the besieged enclave — has been upended by war. Displaced and unable to continue her profession, she now spends long hours baking bread in a traditional clay oven to help provide for her family of nine.
Despite the hardship, Wisal remains devoted to education, volunteering her time to teach children in a displacement centre.
