Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said there is "no room for two states" between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
In a statement released on June 27, Netanyahu said Israeli public opinion had shifted over the past three years and argued that opposition to a Palestinian state had become "a basis for agreement." The two-state framework, long backed by much of the international community, envisions an independent Palestinian state existing alongside Israel.
