Far-right Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir personally monitored the demolition of Palestinian homes in occupied East Jerusalem, demanding that even more homes be flattened. The demolitions are conducted under the pretext of construction without Israeli-issued permits. Israel’s planning policies are intentionally restrictive to limit Palestinian population growth and expand Israeli control over the city.
