University of Edinburgh students walked out of their 2026 graduation ceremony on July 1 to protest the university’s £50.3 million in direct and indirect investments linked to companies facilitating Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. The companies include Google, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, and BlackRock, which invests in arms manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin who supply Israel with bombs used in Gaza.
