Belgium, France and the Netherlands say around 3,700 excess deaths by the end of June were caused by extreme temperatures from the recent heatwave. France says it saw a ‘clear increase’ in deaths among those over 45 years old. Meanwhile, parts of Europe, including the UK, brace for more high temperatures this weekend. Paul Hawkins reports.
