Firefighters battled a fast-moving wildfire overnight in eastern Spain as flames spread into the Sierra de Espadan Natural Park. More than 200 emergency responders, supported by military crews and aircraft, worked to contain the blaze as thick smoke and fire swept through dry vegetation.
Authorities warned that soaring temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds could further complicate firefighting efforts in the coming days. The latest wildfire comes after hundreds of people were evacuated in Spain’s Castellon province on June 5, when a separate blaze spread through forested areas toward nearby communities.
