Nato announces over $50B in new defence deals

At Nato’s opening session in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to the alliance and regional peace, and called for greater burden-sharing. Erdogan also met with leaders including the UK and Germany to strengthen defence co-operation, and highlighted Türkiye’s growing role in Nato’s defence industry. Andrew Hopkins reports from Ankara
