Texas’s Austin police released bodycam footage of the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy who was killed by officers responding to a mental health-related call at a playground—a call that was later confirmed to have been made by the teen himself.
Police said officers believed he was armed, but investigators found only a water bottle. The shooting has drawn criticism after Police Chief Lisa Davis described it as "suicide by police"
