Long before it became a global brand, the Jaffa orange was cultivated by generations of Palestinian farmers and helped build one of the region’s most prosperous economies.
After the 1948 Nakba, thousands of Palestinian farmers were displaced, citrus groves were confiscated and gradually uprooted, while the globally recognised "Jaffa" brand was appropriated by Israeli settlers and continued to be profited from worldwide.
Today, the fruit remains a powerful symbol of Palestinian identity and enduring resistance against displacement and Israeli occupation.
