Human rights groups and pro-democracy activists held a Harry Potter-themed rally in Bangkok on August 2, urging supporters to defend democracy.
The gathering, titled “Harry Potter: Letters from Azkaban,” was the latest in a series of themed protests that began in 2020.
The program featured messages from imprisoned activists, a symbolic Patronus spell-themed action, a letter-writing campaign for detainees, and a signature drive supporting legal and constitutional reforms.
Organisers also opposed a constitutional amendment backed by the governing Bhumjaithai Party, saying it would allow unelected senators to retain influence over the constitution-drafting process.
