A group of protesters removed and subsequently burned a US flag displayed on the facade of the Savoy Hotel, near Congress in Buenos Aires, during protests on Thursday against the Law of Inviolability of Private Property, which is currently being debated.
Opponents of the bill say the law would allow foreign states and individuals to purchase Argentina’s natural resources, warning that some already own entire towns.
At least two officers and one protester were injured, according to AFP footage. At least 10 people were arrested, local media reported, although the figure was not initially confirmed by authorities.
