Pakistan inaugurated the Yadgar-e-Fatah (Monument of Victory) in Islamabad on August 13 to mark its 79th independence anniversary. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif jointly opened the monument, which pays tribute to the nation’s martyrs and commemorates what Pakistan calls its victory over India in the May 2025 military confrontation. Top military leaders, including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, attended the ceremony.
