Sudan’s El Obeid remains under intense pressure as the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have renewed their assault on the North Kordofan capital. The RSF has also stepped up drone attacks across the country this week, after recently losing ground in its war with the Sudanese Army. The conflict began in April 2023 and has created what the United Nations describes as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Catherine Viette has more.
