A devastating wildfire in Stourbridge destroyed 19 homes and seriously damaged 18 more, spreading across 500 acres and coming dangerously close to a hospital.
As firefighters battled blazes across the UK, emergency services were stretched to the limit, with crews brought in from neighbouring regions to help contain the flames.
With 2026 already surpassing last year’s record for major wildfires and little rain forecast, authorities are warning of further fires as dry conditions continue.
