Four US states are seeking close to $200 billion from Meta, accusing the company of deliberately designing Facebook and Instagram to keep children hooked and misleading the public about their safety.
California, Colorado, Kentucky and New Jersey are going to trial first, with another 25 states expected to follow. The landmark case could force major changes to how Meta’s platforms are designed for young users.
