A small aeroplane and a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter collided mid-air near Carlisle Airport in Pennsylvania on August 19, prompting a major emergency response. The Federal Aviation Administration said the Cessna 150 and Bell 407 helicopter collided, with two people aboard the helicopter and an unknown number of people on the plane. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are expected to investigate the crash.
