Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised the latest US sanctions against Iran, calling them a “repetitive scenario” and accusing Washington of pursuing the same pressure tactics used by previous administrations. Speaking in Tehran on August 23, Araghchi said the return to sanctions after previous military threats showed the US was “desperate” and had no solution to the current crisis. He called for “respectful dialogue” with Iran and a solution based on “justice and dignity.”
