Ukrainian drones struck four logistics hubs belonging to Russian online retailer Ozon in Makhachkala, Dagestan, the company said on August 24. A facility caught fire after the attack, while workers were evacuated from sites in Adygea and Stavropol. The strikes bring the number of Ozon facilities targeted since August 22 to six.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine targets such logistics and retail hubs because they are involved in supplying military goods and generating significant revenue for Russia. He described the earlier Wildberries operation as a calculated response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian civilian logistics, estimating direct losses at around one trillion rubles.
