Nearly 1,000 years after the Battle of Malazgirt helped open the way for Turkish rule in Anatolia, thousands are gathering in Ahlat, eastern Türkiye, to mark its 955th anniversary.
The three-day festival brought the Seljuk era to life with traditional dances, archery, equestrian sports, wrestling, local crafts and cultural activities.
