Eyewitness footage shows the devastating scale of the massive flash flooding that swept through villages in Nepal’s Himalayan region on August 26, carrying mud, rocks and debris down mountainsides and destroying homes, roads and bridges. The flooding severely affected Rasuwa district near the Tibet border, with at least 27 bridges destroyed and several hydropower projects damaged. Authorities said more than 300 people have died and over 1,300 remain unaccounted for as search and rescue operations continue.
