A passenger ferry carrying 267 people began taking on water shortly after leaving Girne Port in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Rescue teams were dispatched after the captain called for assistance.
Public Works and Transport Minister Erhan Arikli said 259 passengers and eight crew members were aboard the ferry, adding that the cause of the incident had yet to be determined
